Certified Parenting & Student Coach

Navigating the transition to college and young adulthood can be both exciting and overwhelming—for students and parents alike. As a parent figuring out how best to support your child’s growing independence or a student preparing for or adjusting to the demands of college, you're in the right place.

I’ve spent my career guiding students through the challenges of college and beyond. After earning my undergraduate degree in from UC Berkeley and an MFA from Chapman University, I went on to teach at seven different colleges, ranging from universities to community colleges. I’ve served as Dean of Students at Mt. Sierra College and Program Director at Westwood College, helping thousands of students navigate academic, social, and personal challenges.

For the past 12 years, I’ve been in the classroom, teaching first-year college students. I’ve seen firsthand what makes students thrive—and what holds them back. My experience has given me deep insight into what young adults need to succeed, as well as the concerns parents face as they watch their kids step into independence.

On a personal level, I know this journey well. As a father of two college students, I’ve experienced the excitement, uncertainty, and challenges that come with preparing for and transitioning to college life. I understand how important it is to strike the right balance between independence and support—and I have lots of experience helping parents learn how to guide without overstepping.

That’s why I started this coaching business—to help families navigate these pivotal years with confidence. Whether you’re a student looking for strategies to succeed in college, a parent wanting to provide the right kind of support, I provide guidance tailored to your unique needs.

You don’t have to navigate this transition alone. Let’s work together to make this stage of life as smooth, successful, and fulfilling as possible.
